Review time again from yours truly, time to review what is my favourite album of all time. Ac/dcs Powerage record which was done in 1978.

    Tracklist.
    1. Rock n Roll Damnation
    2. Down Payment Blues
    3. Gimme a Bullet
    4. Riff Raff
    5. Sin City
    6. Whats Next To The Moon
    7. Gone Shootin
    8. Upto My Neck in You
    9. Kicked In The Teeth

I could rant on a lot how much I love this album, Let There Be Rock introduced the raw gritty rock n roll Ac/dc was capable of, Powerage to me added to it and really showed some absolute musical genius with this album.
I like how some of the songs dont mess around, just gets straight into it like Whats Next To the Moon, Gone Shootin. At the same time songs like Riff Raff have great build up opening riffs to start the song, Bons voice throughout was at its best.

My favourite songs on the album are Whats Next To The Moon, Rock n Roll Damnation and Down Payment Blues, again songs showing some of their bluesy musical roots.

I have to say this for mine is the best Ac/dc album, a lot of people say Highway to Hell but this for mine has better production, its raw and gritty rock n roll which is whats so great about it.

Highway to Hell has great production but as I said I feel the raw energy from Powerage is something that stands out for me on this album more then any other. It is my favourite album of all time, and will continue to be for as long as Ill live. Absolutely brilliant album.

This was the album that really did it for me. I probably wrote this story somewhere else in this forum but I seen AC/DC for the first time in '78 opening for Aerosmith. I never heard of them but was told they were a Punk band that had a midget who played guitar & a Giant who was the singer. Of course none of that was true & they blew me away & one of the highlights for me was "Sin City". I went out & bought Powerage shortly afterward so that being my first AC/DC record still remains my favorite today. I Love Riff Raff, Down Payment Blues, & Kicked in the Teeth Again. nice Review Riff

It was the first AC/DC album I bought when I was in fifth grade. I actually remembers getting it at the store Media Play, in the mall. I was so excited to get to play it; this album was a huge eye opener for me..:)

Great write up, Riff Raff.. A lot of people talk down on this album as one of AC/DC's worst, but I love it, all the way through.. It's a completely enjoyable listen for me:tup:

I really dont get how it could be the worst album, maybe they just aint a fan of the raw punch you get from every chord they struck on every song.
Has a very similar edge that Let there Be Rock had.

A lot of people say it's very boring, I'm not bored by it at all, and I certainly don't agree with any of it. But, that's what I hear.:dunno:

George Young did pretty good job producing these albums early on with the band, the raw edge is why I prefer them to most other albums.
