I'm not sure if it's really plausible that they'd snub the guy's band because he has a big mouth. They're still one of the most influential rock bands ever IMO. That's hard for my to even type but it's the truth. I still can't believe Deep Purple isn't inducted some 40 something years after the release of their first album.
Deep Purple
Judas Priest
Kiss
Rush
Chicago
Styx
Yes

and many many others.

It took Black Sabbath 36 years to get in. Hard to argue that they were THE single most influential heavy metal band in history and it took them 11 years to get in. Sex Pistols have 1 ****ing album, they are in. U2 gets in on the first ballot. Richie Vallens had 1 hit and 2 semi-hits and is in.

Metallica, who I agree should be in, got in ahead of the likes of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, who in my honest opinion are the #2 and #3 most influential heavy metal bands of all time (behind Sabbath).

The whole process is ****ed up. There are many many deserving artists that are in and I have no arguement with them, however the wait time for some is sad and the complete and utter disclusion for many others is sad. I'm not even going to talk about the undeserving artists that ARE in.

Considering that Rolling Stone has very close ties with the Hall of Flimflam, I'm not surprised they still haven't inducted Rush. That magazine has always had a love/hate relationship with that band, and I wouldn't be surprised if politics had something to do with it... it seems like back when 2112 came out half the RS staff went: "AYN RAND?! Welp, that's it. Don't care what they do, don't care how successful they get, I am never giving a **** about this band again."

Nooooooo leave the Wilson's alone! After 30 million albums and two full decades worth of huge tours, they more than deserve to be let in, but it has been so long coming why even bother.

With no Rush balloted the RRHoF has no credibility from anyone who has even a sniff of a clue regarding music influence, and I was perfectly happy with most of my favorite bands not being included.

I am pretty sure Heart won't make it, but if they do slip through the cracks I wonder if they will have the original band there to accept?

Nah, Ann is far too arrogant. It will be the Wilson's and Howard Leese.

Rory Gallagher sold over 30 million copies without releasing a single and yet he is not inducted to RaRHoF. Heart might be questionable, but better something than nothing. :D

Congratulations to The Spinners along with War, but still no Electric Light Orchestra, 15 years overdue and counting, the Rock Hall truly is a piss stain, no joke!

Nothing questionable about it. Other rock bands have sold more, but it is much easier with a male vocalist than a female. Sure, they are almost a joke now thanks to the power ballad mid 80's, and not producing a really good album in decades, but what they did for women in rock during the 70's cannot be denied.

This discussion will most likely prove moot anyway, as I am sure the John Lennon-esque musical genius Donovan will run away with the prize
