:oyea: It's not THAT bad!

That being said, most of the Tony Martin albums rank among my least favourite Black Sabbath albums. That’s not to say they are not good albums and Tony is certainly a good singer, I'm just not as into them as most of the other albums.

There's worse out there from other bands but Sabbath really hit a low with that record. lol

That first album - the Sabbath guys didn't know anything about the sound effects on it. They were away touring in Germany after laying down the tracks. While they were away the producer, Rodger Bain, added all that stuff.

I didn't know that. i am assuming it got band approval before release.

Thank you @joker1961. I confess........I have never read any books on Black Sabbath. I should probably do some reading.:)

You have to remember that these were four working class guys from Birmingham who had just had the opportunity of a lifetime - to actually record an album. They were happy to go along with anything the producer said.

I've read several Sabbath books, including Iommi's and Ozzy's own biographies, but I can't recall if they agreed with the producer or not. As Johnny-Too-Good said, it probably wouldn't have made a difference if they didn't and ultimately, I think we can all agree that the sound effects took the album to a whole different level.
