Molly Hatchet (Official Thread)

I just recently got into the "new" Molly Hatchet a few years ago, they are quite impressive for a band who has very little of the old band in place, especially live. Unlike the "new" Thin Lizzy , Lynryd Skynyrd, where I just kinda have the feeling that they are a cover band pretending to be Thin Lizzy, Lynryd Skynyrd ( no matter how good ..) the new Hatchet really feels like a later incarnation of Molly Hatchet.

My hat is off to them, they shred !!!

Original members or not, the band is still going strong as far as I'm concerned. "Devil's Canyon" and "Silent Reign of Heroes" (both from the 90s) are two of their best albums imo, but you can't really go wrong with any of their albums, new or old.

For those who haven't heard it, I'd recommend 'Danny Joe Brown and the Danny Joe Brown Band'. A great album for fans of the older Hatchet stuff.

^^Magic told me about Danny's solo stuff but I've never picked any of his records up.

I bought the first 3 Molly Hatchet albums when they came out...Flirtin' With Disaster would be my pick as their best all round effort. After that I lost track of them completely.
