Does any believe there are any new, young, stadium sell out rock bands coming through today like AREOSMITH / BON JOVI / DEF LEPPARD / GUNS N ROSES / VAN HALEN that actually play real rock music. If so can they point me in the right direction !!!!!! We need some new blood out there to keep rock alive.

Personally I think the age of that type of enormous band may be drawing to a close. I hope I'm wrong, because I love it. But the business is changing rapidly. The young bands are out there, but they are working their asses off just to keep going. I find that the forthcoming albums I'm looking forward to are the likes of Slash, California Breed, and Rival Sons. Not exactly youthful. It has become very difficult to break into that 'BIG' area.

I'm a huge fan of Avenged Sevenfold. They're in their late 20's or early 30's and they play pretty big venues. My band (high school) is recording our demo right now. You can find my youtube page here https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCPc2QTAXXdnKRg8fFNY2Z0w . Right now I post guitar covers but once we're done I'll post our original demo.

I think there are some quality rock bands today that are on the verge of breaking through and some amazing small venue bands that are doing the rounds. Maybe worth checking out ... Graveyard, Gentleman's Pistols, Scorpion Child, Big Elf, The Vintage Caravan.

Eh...I find all sorts of great rock bands that I like and the size of the venue they're filling means little to me. In fact, if they're playing smaller venues then I'm actually more inclined to go to the show because the tickets are less expensive and the atmosphere is better.

With the ease of the internet music is becoming more and more diverse while people who are looking for particular niches can find more bands within it than ever. If you like power metal then there thousands of bands you can listen to that are all writing the same kind of song. If you like bluesy bar rock then you can find thousands of those too. The same can be said for indie rock, piano rock, pop rock, christian rock, and so on and so on. It bothers me more that I can't find anything that doesn't sound like anything I've heard before but maybe that's just me. I guess non of this really has anything to do with particular bands' success and popularity in a physical sense but there are always people who are going to like the same things as you and I think that should be enough so long as the music is still being made.

I think that's because all the music being put out today sounds like the music you grew up with 20 years ago. (And by now I have a good idea of your taste in music)

The problem for me is, I can't find anything new today that sounds like something from the 70s or 80s. Ya know...classic rock.

But if I'm missing something that I didn't find on Youtube, please let me know.

Wolfmother aren't bad. But neither are they something to get too excited about.

of course I am a huge fan of classic rock, but nevertheless i think we have to get rid off the "all new rock bands are bad"-attitude...see that too much in life man

Maybe you expect less because you are a Millennial and haven't been spoiled with growing up surrounded by great music. I guess I just have higher expectations than bands like Wolfmother, what I consider to be an average rock band.

I think we've reached the point now where people are so tired of complaining that there's no great music these days that they've just given up and have resigned to now call average bands, good bands.
