If liking Wolfmother is settling for whatever rock we can get then Chickenfoot is the most overhyped band of the decade.
And in no particular order....
You're welcome.
And on a side note....I wonder if in 1971 or something a lot of people went "Gee...this new music is so dreadful. They just don't make good, timeless music like Bobby Darin or Neil Sedaka anymore."
Maybe you expect less because you are a Millennial and haven't been spoiled with growing up surrounded by great music. I guess I just have higher expectations than bands like Wolfmother, what I consider to be an average rock band.
I think we've reached the point now where people are so tired of complaining that there's no great music these days that they've just given up and have resigned to now call average bands, good bands.
I would say too many old rock fans are hung up on the old classic rock sound and are still looking for that same band. Sorry but those times are long gone and if you hear a band today like those bands you put them off as a bad or only decent copy. I disagree I like some of the new bands play old sounding music but prefer new bands mixing various genre.
I won't bother mentioning any as this thread is looking for hard rock something I know very little about. As far as new bands go look thru soots 2013 list 50-60 great bands and that is just the tip if the iceberg.
I'm actually glad I was in on the 99-05 music scene and got watch small bands grow up something that I missed in the 70's because back then it was all about the big bands.
