Yes and anyone who thinks the drugs are pre-requisite most certainly has a real serious problem on their hands and needs to seek therapy...........

Thanks for that, architect! I'll listen to it sometime later today. It is buffering too much right now.

You guys wanna hear something funny? When I was studying for my masters degree in the US, I lived with a guy who did not like Pink Floyd very much and thought they were pretentious as hell. So at every opportunity he would try to pull my leg on something Floyd related. I must tell you here that I'm originally from the city of Chennai (India) which used to be called 'Madras'. One day when I was listening to Brain Damage on DSOTM, he changed the lyrics and started singing "the lunatic is in Madras". It cracks me up to this day! :gig

This is certainly the first time I've ever heard anyone call Floyd pretentious..........

Well... he used to listen to a lot of punk music like Rancid, Bad Religion, Black Flag etc. and he was a big fan of Henry Rollins. Maybe that'll put things a bit more into perspective. :D

I've heard quite a few folks say PF was pretentious mostly referring to "The Wall". I disagree of course I don't mind a band indulging themselves especially when it comes to concept albums.

@Musikwala

That was funny, "The Lunatic is in Madras...." :heheh:
