Get ready cause I'm about to go off on a rant...
Where to start? First of all, I agree with everything you said and one of the biggest pet peeves I have of these women singers is their "attitude." Call it a feminist agenda or whatever but it's highly annoying and I can't relate to these songs at all or to them because they all sound like puppets. Whether they're acting sexy or acting like users of men, it's not winning me over. And it's been a tired act for quite awhile now.
Aside from the attitude, the music is horrible. It seems most of these girls today are only interested in looking sexy for their fans while the music is merely an afterthought. You and I might think it's crap but these girls are so deluded, they actually believe their music is good. Most of them are completely talentless and look like they sold their soul to the devil just to be on the radio.
Which brings me to Clear Channel...AKA, the devil. Here's a great reason for the regulation of the music industry and why one company shouldn't have a monopoly on radio stations. They have removed all the "music people" from the higher positions in the industry and replaced them with bean counters.
The music industry is doing the same thing to the American public as the film industry which is to give people as few choices as possible and then give them a steady diet of that for years to come. Putting out the same product over and over is a cheap way to keep profits rolling in without having to take unnecessary risks on signing bands that sound different than what's currently on the radio.
At any rate, people continue to buy the crap that's out there. Because if they didn't, the record industry would've already died and all of these horrible female acts along with them.
