I have the G-Force album, not bad, I have a lot of his stuff and have seen him a few times. He was a great guitarist and could play almost any style IMO. He loved his blues, most of his later albums were more blues than rock, I believe he felt comfortable when playing the blues and when you get Albert King and Albert Collins giving him their blessing he had to be doing something right. When I saw him doing his rock material he was good but seeing him back in the blues was awesome. Whether he was in G-Force or any other band he was a natural and it is still a big loss for everyone.

If you like Gary Moore and you like jazz rock (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Isotope), you should hear Colosseum II's Strange New Flesh from 1976. There is an expanded remaster from 2005. If you like Colosseum II, then Moore's playing on Andrew Lloyd Webber's Variations, from 1978, is worth hearing. But, of all Gary Moore's work, it is G-Force to which I keep returning. It does have a commercial NWOBHM-vibe, his fuzz-box has a funny sound and his lyrics are poor, but I can forgive him.

I remember hearing a live show on the radio in about 1981 or 82 and it was extremely energetic. It stays in my mind because he kept saying, 'Let's rock'! All of the live released material I have heard from radio shows in the eighties, or otherwise, sounds flat by comparison.

I think you gave me a vinyl copy when you got the CD Sweat ... I'll dig it out. And yeah "White Knuckles" is a monster track.

I picked up a Gary Moore cd today (20/01/13-i've never seen it before?) called 'Blues for Jimi' (Hendrix) featuring ex-Hendrix rhythm section musician's Mitch Mitchell on drums & Billy Cox on Bass recorded in London in 2007.

As for G-FORCE one of Gary's better projects in my opinion and a 'very good' album as well.

I have seen that one E-Z but not got it myself..

I havan't played it yet Sweaty i come across the cd in Fopp in London's west end but the track listing is all material from the early J.H.E. albums and singles such as Purple Haze, Foxy Lady, Manic Depression, Hey Joe, The wind cries Mary, Voodoo Child (slight return) and a few others the only later hendrix song included is the song Angel.

A picture of Gary with a fender Strat in full cry on the back of the cd!.

Blues for Jimi is a good album. Pat Travers and Mick Rogers also have a tribute album called The Jimi Hendrix Experience (1998).
