I'm sure you know what you want Sweaty, and aren't fooled by gimmicks which sadly is not the case with people who get taken advantage of.

If Bose sold their products for a fair price, I wouldn't despise them so much. But my antipathy for the brand goes back to the 70's, with his ridiculous claim that his design eliminated IMD in his speakers, the famous 901's. Then a few years later he starts selling speakers with crossovers and different sized drivers anyway.:wtf:

I think they are corporate owned now, but that won't change my feelings towards that group of shysters, never owned a Bose anything and never will.

I think greed takes over, most of the things I buy are based on my own experience or by reputation alone, most of the good things start underground and then eventually some corporate prol gets hold of the idea and ruins it which is why most branded stuff is now *****.

^^Not a fan of i-pods but EPOS is a good solid company that have made quality gear for a long time.

My brother has AudioEngine speakers for his PC, he swears by them and they are nice too and expensive as well.

Saw this unique Samsung dock the other day at Visions, not a fan of these generally speaking, but I had to look twice at this one, it has Tubes to "warm" the sound of the digital media...I think that's kind of cool to see ancient technology married with the latest flavor of the day. I would never buy one but it sounded better to these old ears than any of the other docks I've listened to.

^Ive enjoyed looking through this thread^
Ive compared the audioengine to the epoz (via forums)
Audioengine A5 vs epoz aktimate mini
Ive read reviews on the samsung b & w zeppelin arcam r cube etc and after a huge amount of procrastination i was literally forced to buy these with %70 per cent off(ex display)
They sound amazing and are monitor speakers and give a true sound unlike the boom boom units that have way to much bass in my opinion.

^^You mean you bought the ones in the photo?

I have never heard any of these multimedia speakers that can hold up to a proper system, but there is a big difference in price as well and are two different markets. I don't listen to lossy formats anyway, even on my Sansa they are all FLAC/APE lossless files.

Yes i got them from a shop(above is just an example).Im very impressed but i agree a proper system will outshine them.
My mp3s are ripped at 320 kbps.If ive blagged a freebie download i dont mind 192kbps.
I assume you have the sansa clip(heard they are good).Incidentally i have senheiser px 100
headphones which are good for my needs. To be honest since ive got the speakers im not really bothered about my headphones anymore.I just wear them for dogwalking.Id just love to pop around yours Lord and listen to some Lord of the deep purple kind on your excellent system.Whats your view on this streaming fad ?

I have to admit, after listening to a record the other day ot sounded awesome, kinds made me want to buy a new record player but I do like CD's as they don't scratch easy and are smaller when it comes to storage. I have a Yamaha speaker for playing my ipod when doing chores in the house:)

The Maiden shirt looks fine.:hab:

So I went and checked out my 3 favorite stereo shops last weekend before the year end sales were over.

And although I hadn't planned on it I ended up buying a nice pair of speakers, at a very very good price.:D
