Rush are over in the UK again next year playing the Motorpoint at Sheffield. I'll do my best to get hold of a ticket, they played here just last year and were superb. Here's a tune from 2112 to tide me over.

"Something For Nothing" awesome.

Awesome song off an awesome album Sox ..Too bad Rush Doesn't seem to respect what I consider their golden age. Pre Moving Pictures for me ,,,but I am starting to get into that album ( Moving Pictures ) again after having been bored to death by it's overexposure for so many years back in the day.

^^^ My favourite era is the early stuff up to "Hemispheres" but I like the rest as well. Me and Sweaty went to see them last year and they were brilliant. The scary thing was it was nearly 20 years since we last saw them .. "Roll The Bones" tour. Were did the years go ?

I loved Moving Pictures and Self-Titled. What other albums should I go for as someone who liked those 2?

Those two albums are a bit different from each other Riff, at least to my inexperienced ears. I'd recommend A Farewell to Kings though personally. I love that one. :)

Perhaps the Rush gurus of the forum can offer better recs than I can though. :grinthumb

Any rec is appreciated by me whether from a relatively new fan or an old school fanatic. :)
I agree the 2 albums are different which is really why I asked, as I like a bit of variety. :)
A Farewell to Kings has been one a few others said I should try out, that one Ill definitely seek out.

The first album I bought Riff was "Caress Of Steel" .. There is a bit of a mixed review about the album but I love it. Any of the first six studio albums I would recommend. From "Permanent Waves" they shift a little in style IMO. I have all their studio albums but I tend to play the earlier stuff most.

Rush
Fly By Night
Caress Of Steel
2112
A Farewell To Kings
Hemispheres

The later gear is also top notch though ...

Moving Pictures
Grace Under Pressure
Roll The Bones
Test For Echo
Snakes & Arrows

These kind of stand out for me but as Rush are one of my favourite bands I am kind of very biased. :cheers2
