How can you give a negative review of an album you haven't heard? At best there are 3 full songs available and two extra 90 second clips. From a 13 track album?

Fair point was meant to say song, not album. People are naturally gonna be sceptical about it though after thinking 2 or 3 song samples were not special. Its a good thing people are voicing their opinions on those songs whether positive or negative feedback.

Fair play :grinthumb

I'm just grateful they're putting it out. Someone on here not so long ago, told me and other Van Halen fans not to hold our breath over it :D

I am glad you and other fans here are excited, don't let what some people say on other forums or even here sway that. :D

I'm too much of an arsehole to ever let that happen :heheh:

Dave and the boys haven't put out an album together since before I was born, Van Halen are one of only two artists left on my "to see before I die" list! The other being Led Zeppelin or at best, Jimmy Page.

Folks on this forum are definitely more balanced in their views than a lot of others I've seen. And you're right, we're lucky they're putting it out at all. What would the same people say if VH said "due to the fact that our fans didn't like the clips very much, we've decided to pull the album and work on it for another year"....uproar. Maybe they should put that comment out just to see the reaction from all the naysayers, ha ha.

And it's also very true that lots of supposed fans banged on and on saying it would never come out and that the delay was ridiculous. What delay? They only started recording it about this time last year. Hardly Chinese Democracy in terms of waiting time.

Like I said earlier, it's just an album and it's not gonna save the world. You can't even blame VH for the hype. They never said anything until 26 December 2011!!!

And its hardly Chinese Democracy in quality so far, at least the songs I heard had some good qualities to them lol
I mean to be fair there are 3 or 4 songs on Chinese I do dig but still. I think this album won't be anything like it in quality, it will be better.

Let's hope we don't get the same crap from the internet re: the new Black Sabbath album, although you' imagine people will be a little more respectful given Tony Iommi's ill health.

Regarding Sabbath I am just as sceptical actually since I was not a big fan of the last album they did with Ozzy in Never Say Die. I hold a consistent scepticism on that.

.....it's not at all like old Van Halen. Still reminds me of DLR solo.

Exactly! The fire is gone... Totally disappointed, but then again Eddie's not 20 anymore. I would rather listen to the Warner Demos bootleg over this new stuff.
