I will post some pictures of my system tomorrow seeing you are all showing off some really nice gear.
Craig,,,I have been making tapes the last two weeks from FLAC's that I don't want to burn to CD, so I make a great cassette copy and burn the original to DVD Archive for now, but it's always a good practice to make back-ups of all your music I find.

yeah, I only have one around me, they are a bit expensive, so I think with christmas coming up in a few months, that might be the time, plus if I have my dad choose for me or at least help me pick I will probably get something better, he actually knows about this stuff haha

Digital Sources
My current digital sources are a 2nd-generation Rega Planet CD player used as a transport only, fed through a Modwright-modified Channel Islands Audio DAC/power supply. That's the Rega on top:
Underneath the Rega is a garden variety Sony SACD changer. I prefer SACD among the hi-res formats, and I had Matt Anker modify this Sony for me.

Yes, I would still buy an SACD player if I needed another one. I have probably 100+ SACDs, and some of the early ones aren't hybrids (thank you, Sony/Columbia), so even if they stopped making SACD software tomorrow, I'd need a player anyway. Fortunately, there's still a lot of classical, and some jazz, being newly issued on SACDs.
In fact, given my bad luck with the limited longevity of all my other Sony equipment, I bought a cheap Oppo universal player a couple of years ago to have as a backup. Fortunately or not I haven't had to press it into service yet. I still occasionally think about getting something better (Marantz is probably the go-to brand for SACD players before you get into the megabucks range), but now's not the time for me to do that financially speaking.

Yes, that's the Matt Anker. The Sony worked fine from the beginning, but considering it was a cheap unit to begin with, I wanted him to upgrade a number of its basic components to audiophile quality parts. Between what I considered was a reasonable price for his work, and the fact that the player itself only cost be about $100 itself (on clearance at Circuit City a few years back), I decided I could justify paying to get the extra work done. That's the one I'm thinking of buying. Would you ship a Marantz to Matt Anker as well?
y'all can laugh at me, but this is what I use as of lately:
My Fisher system has a flaw, bubble gum in the turntable. I have a Studio Standard integrated system purchased in 1982. It will play cassettes and has a Killer FM tuner, but I cant play CD's.

I don't know if he does any Marantz mods. You'd have to check his website or get in touch with him to ask. If he does, and I had a Marantz and I could afford his mods, I wouldn't hesitate to have him do it. But you have to take everything into consideration, like if you're willing to have the factory warranty voided (mods usually do that). With the Sony, it was so cheap to begin with I wasn't too concerned about what might happen if the unit developed a problem that would have otherwise been covered under its warranty. I kind of viewed it as a throw-away to begin with, and when you take that attitude, it frees you up to do all kinds of things.
