I can't wait! I'm not very impressed with Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, but then again like I said before their first single releases from each album have never been as good as the album as a whole. They've managed to create an entirely different sound with each album so I'm interested to see if they did anything different this time!

I'm ok with them going onto a different sound if that's what they choose to do in this album. I hope that they keep some of the sound that they did in Viva La Vida. The difference between that album and their albums prior is pretty extraordinary. Not to say that their older albums are bad, but I always feel like Viva La Vida had a more upbeat feel to it, that's the Coldplay I really love right now.

Parachutes was definitely the more "melancholy" of their albums. I always liked X&Y the most personally, but Mylo Xyloto will be produced by the same producer as Viva la Vida (Brian Eno) so I say expect some similarities in this one. Their first single from the new album does sort of have a Viva la Vida feel to it. I think a lot of fans would like to see something similar to AROBTTH, though.

Ahh, that's right. I think you mentioned that in this thread before, but I must've forgotten. Who knows, perhaps they'll mix it up and have the album have different aspects of sound from a variety of their albums. Some melancholy songs, some upbeat songs, some slow, some fast, knowing Coldplay, they'd probably pull it off if they did something like that.

^^^ That may very well be true, and I get the vibe from Chris Martin and Guy Berryman from what I've read that they won't be continuing on much longer so perhaps they'll try to pay tribute to their career by varying this album a little bit? Much like LZ did in PG. Many different styles.

If they do do that, I hope they don't go half-assed. There are plenty of artists out there that tend to end their career on a bad taste. But like I said, I don't think Coldplay could screw it up regardless of the style they go with in this album. I'll be excited if they do go the Viva La Vida style road, but I won't be disappointed if their album sounds like their older work. It's tough to hate their music anyway.

1. "Mylo Xyloto"
2. "Hurts Like Heaven"
3. "Paradise"
4. "Charlie Brown"
5. "Us Against the World"
6. "M.M.I.X."
7. "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall"
8. "Major Minus"
9. "U.F.O."
10. "Princess of China" (featuring Rihanna)
11. "Up in Flames"

A bit disappointed to see that they've done a song with Rihanna. That should be interesting.
