Yeah, I thought the same thing. I'm not totally sure what to think about it, i'm a bit iffy, but who knows. It could be good.

I hope so. I hope they're not going to end up being sellouts to the hip-hop genre like so many respectable artists have done in the past.

That's sort of what i'm worrying about as well. If I end up being disappointed by the upcoming album, I don't really know what i'd have to say about it. I mean, if it has the Coldplay sound, i'll enjoy it. If it's completely different and it sounds like they're changing their sound for the money, i'll be disappointed.

I'm sure it could never be bad enough to where I wouldn't love them anymore. :grinthumb

Oh, same here. They'll always be one of my favorite bands, because they've left such an impact on my music taste in general, that it'd be a crime to just let them go.

Quell your fears bretheren, for I predict a cornucopia of melodramatic art rock approaching our shores! :grinthumb From what I hear from the two songs released, it seems to me like Coldplay are going for a more diverse, creative sound. The Rihanna cameo should be interesting too, whether I like it or not I'm looking forward to hearing what it's like! :D

I must be getting behind on my Coldplay love because my sweet hipster cousin brought this song to my attention today. Paradise is the second single release from Coldplay's upcoming album Mylo Xyloto. This song, at least to me, has a completely different feel to it than any other song I've heard by the band. I like the direction so far this album is going in from what I've heard it. It took me a little bit to warm up to Every Teardrop is a Waterfall and this song solidifies my belief that Mylo Xyloto will be a good buy. I really dig the almost orchestral intro and the rest of the song has sort of a mixture of that element with almost an electric feel to it. I can see some similarities based on the singles released thus far to Viva la Vida but, true to Coldplay fashion, this album will most likely be completely different from their previous ones. Each of their albums showcase a different style and are true testaments to the evolution of the band over the past 10+ years. I can't wait for the 24th! :grinthumb

^I'll be getting to listening to that sometime tonight.

I went against what I usually do with a single and decided to give a song from the upcoming album a listen. With that one song, the album sounds pretty promising. I think it'll most likely be one of their best. Vocals are incredible.
