One of my exes used to look just like Syd Barrett if he neglected shaving for a while, especially when his hair grew out. He had the same facial structure (but he was a little chubbier than Syd) and everything. He kind of ruined my lustful eye for the superfine Mr. Barrett.

I think Roger Waters is a lot lovelier than Syd Barrett ever was, though. Even with a huge nose and teeth missing.

Nobody who can write and record a record like The Final Cut or The Pros and Cons of Hitch-hiking deserves anything less than all of my heart. In a certain sense his material could be construed as vaguely badass... people eating puppy-sandwiches, violent rock stars.... But I'd say his material is some of the most sensitive ever crafted. It's always about just how vibrantly painful life can be, and it ALWAYS ends with "love, love, love, we can persevere through love."
