Re: Nirvana & Kurt

Kurt was a wreck. A fool as well. But he made some damn good music.

:grinthumb
I like Nirvana, but I never really bothered to listen to all of their songs. I liked Bleach and In Utero. And I appreciate them because they created a whole new genre, and I love their lyrics, because they're so direct. They usually make me feel depressed and miserable but still. :lmao:

Re: Nirvana & Kurt

Not enough emphasis on Nirvana's music in here. One of my favorite bands from the 90's and overall. Like them or hate them, Nirvana had the same effect on young impressionable kids as bands like The Who did in the 60's and The Ramones did a few years after. So sad that Kurt Cobain lost his battle with depression. He was an artist pure and simple. And their MTV Unplugged was one of the best. This band always stood out in my mind even from my early days.

Some of my all time favorites include...

Polly

All Apologies (I like the live version better)

About a Girl

Lithium

Thanks. :grinthumb There are tons more by them I like but hadn't the room. I think people focus too much on Kurt Cobain's life/death and not Nirvana's music. Kurt aside they were one of the best of the 90's! Their music was short and to the point. Their songs were by no means "epic" but they were still enjoyable. And Nirvana ushered in a new music era then with grunge. And I don't know why but Cobain reminds me of a 90's version of Jim Morrison to an extent. Love them!
