G'N R really could have done without The Spaghetti Incident IMO....not that it's all bad but this was a time when we would see Axl on television singing with alot of other people , helping them to butcher their tunes. The Tom Petty and Axl pairing was the most priceless.
I still will not forget thje look on Petty's face unplugging his Rick looking all P***ed off at the end of Free Falling....or (Axl hogging his mic) FREEEEEEEEEEE FREEEEE FAAAAAAA-LLLIN'' AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH FREEEEEEE AI AI AI AI FALLLLLLLL-EEEEEEEEN!
Having said that...I like Appetite and both Use Your Illusions even if there were spotty tunes. But Van Halen just had better songs as a whole...and that's only my opinion. Both bands are different and good at what they do.
