I prefer GNR, Van Halen had great song, but they had many crappy cock-rock songs which I personally don't enjoy...

^^That made me laugh, you could eliminate entire bands and their discographies for singing "cock rock songs"...probably second only to love songs in rock music history as far as volume goes.

I like Guns N' Roses, but after ''Appetite For Destruction'', their albums were spotty.

Van Halen, the original band, had a much-much better discography.

So, it's Van Halen, no contest.

I think that's ultimately what it comes down to. GnR made one album that was arguably better than any of Van Halen's, but Van Halen made many more strong albums (and that's considering only the David Lee Roth years) and was a relevant band for a lot longer. GnR was kind of like the Sex Pistols of L.A. metal.

Guns N' Roses could have been one of the greatest rock bands if they stood the test of time. However, they didn't and in my eyes, it makes their stock drop substantially. But those four years, they were phenomenal.

I gotta go with Van Halen. They stood the test of time and even survived without David Lee Roth.
