Yay this is gonna be a great thread

W.A.S.P. - I used to listen to them a lot in eighties, got a few of their albums, but haven't played them in years, blast from the past time for me Nice write-up Cosmic!

Marilyn Manson, have to admit I am a bit of a fan. I think Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood are great albums. I find the guy fascinating so am enjoying reading your write-up Soot (and as usual it's a fab one!). Omg how much like his dad is he?! He even sounds like him!
I think all the farcical rumours that go round about Marilyn are hilarious, especially the way people are always ready to believe the depraved ones - because afterall he is the devil's spawn Did he really have his bottom two ribs removed so he could 'delight' himself
There is a feature on one of our main radio stations over here (BBC Radio 1) named after Mr Manson BBC - Radio 1 - Jo Whiley - Marilyn Manson Was Never in the Wonder Years - all stems from them being asked so many times if he starred in The Wonder Years as Kevin's geeky friend!

This is one of my favourites - I love it

Very nicely done all around Sooty and Cosmic.

Not a Marilyn Manson fan myself, I know he is a very intelligent guy though and his image is "Carefully" constructed for public consumption.

Wasp been ages since I heard their music, never a huge fan but I used to have a couple of their records back in the 80's.

@ Tray-Glad to see a moderate fan as well as that's where I stand! I'll be learning as I go and with things like the ribs episode (I believe not) I'll be doing some fact checking with everything! Snopes seems to have a bunch of fact checking articles on him! I remember in High School that I bought into the whole Paul from the Wonder Years mostly because I wanted too!

Marilyn Manson: Resume of Evil/Saved by The Hell: The College Years

When Marilyn finished his last remaining years at High School in Glen Oak High he uprooted from Canton, Ohio to Florida where Marilyn would attend Broward University College in Fort Lauderdale.

There Marilyn would study Journalism and Theatre. Both these are really no surprise to a fan as the man is very articulate and he is a master of theatre on stage as well as in his videos.

Marilyn found success in writing as he became Assistant Entertainment Editor for the schools student paper, The Observer and even better a staff writer that advanced to associate editor of a magazine. The magazine was:

This magazine opened up many doors to Marilyn including given him his alias of Marilyn Manson and introducing him to Trent Reznor! this would also be the time that Marilyn was starting the original band, Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids!

Best known for being the singer in the early 80's heavy metal band Mecyful Fate, King is one of the scariest rock and rollers going!! Mixing his brand of doom,melodic, power metal with Stephen King type storylines! Stories that delve into ghosts,the occult,murder,romanticism,magic and the ever lovin' devil himself!!

From breaking away from Mercyful fate in 1984, King took with him two members, Michael Denner and Timi Hansen and added the guitar stylings of Andy LaRocque who has been with King from the first day up to and including the present.!!

The band first came out with their evil Christmas Single :No Presents For Christmas and launched into a full assault on Fatal Portrait in 1985!!

Abigail is still considered his best and most ambitious work to date that tells a story of a Haunted Mansion from the 18th century in which a man and woman inherit.... only to discover the evil within!!.

We will explore more King songs and stories throughout SHOCKTOBER...or please feel free to add your own favorites along the way!!​
