All true... Some people just can't handle the truth...

I was waiting for you to join in on this one, Syd. You're both very sick, individuals - which is probably why you're two of my favorite people. :D

Yup, very true.

As far as strict rock and roll goes, many people point to "Rocket 88" as the first true rock and roll song.

I dont even know about that song. All I know is when I hear Robert Johnson in the 1930s sing Love in Vain or Charlie Patton sing Nobody's fault but Mine, I cant help but think of Rock. It may have been classified as blues, but it sounded like rock to me. Anyway, glad someone responded to me and agrees with me. Thanks Martin.

There's clearly a sexual reference there. That's why I don't believe that troublemaker Algernon's outlandish claim that Lawrence Welk was somehow responsible. Mr. Welk was a God fearing white man. His parents had warned him not to touch his wiener unless absolutely necessary and to pray to Jesus that he might never be forced to learn what women are hiding under their skirts.

Here we see Lawrence holding a skinny stick as a replacement for his wiener. Would such a man be capable of making sexual innuendos? :nw:
