Mott The Hoople (after those handful of reunion concerts it should be obvious that the world wants more Mott)
The original Ozzy Osbourne band
Pulp at all would be nice but the "This is Hardcore" lineup would be the best
Quiet Riot (I've always felt like Quiet Riot was a band that had so much more to give but just never got the chance)
Simon & Garfunkel
The White Stripes (Ok, so technically The White Stripes aren't broken up but of all of the stuff Jack is doing his work with Meg is by far his best.)

It goes without saying that the bands I'd put back together would also make quality music on top of it. So many reunited acts try to recapture their glory and end up failing.

Anyway, my choices...

The Small Faces - yet another band America missed the boat on.

Love - the Forever Changes line-up with Bryan McLean. In fact, if I had a time machine I would want to go back to the Sunset Strip in the mid-60's to see this incarnation of Love.

The Clash - it still doesn't seem right that Joe Strummer isn't alive anymore.

Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band - Just one more effort out of Beefheart, please.

Fairport Convention - the Ultrahalfbricking/ Liege and Leif era with Sandy Denny on vocals.

Bowie and the Spiders From Mars - he was never better than when he had Mick Ronson on guitar. I'd wear platform boots 24/7 and die my hair orange if I could make this happen.

Rocket From the Tombs - with Peter Laughner and Cheetah Chrome on guitars and David Thomas on vocals.

The Modern Lovers - the original Roadrunner line-up. Jonathan Richman needs to stop singing about insects and do some proper rock and roll again.

Yes I know what you mean. Mott is a really underrated band and I think Ian Hunter is the most underrated songwriter and solo artist alive today.

Great list! Nice to see another Small Faces fan here. With Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane both gone though, the only way they could reunite is for Ian MacLagan and Kenney Jones to pass away...hope that they stick around for a long time!
(I am reminded of that old bad joke: What would it take for a Beatles reunion to happen? 2 more bullets)

BTW, in case you didn't know, there is a Faces reunion happening which is about to kick off, with Glen Matlock on bass and Mick Hutnall on vocals (no Rod, but word is his voice isn't up to it now anyways...) Keef is even supposed to play some gigs with them.

If Rod's voice were still up to it, I'd love to see a reunion of the original Jeff Beck Group, playing stuff from their first 2 albums.

Captain Beefheart, please come out of retirement! The album that the Magic Band did without you a few years back was damn good, they're ready and waiting on your twisted genius!

I missed Ozzy's reunion with Sabbath about a decade ago, maybe it will happen again.

I'd love to see the reformation of the Motörhead "Ace of Spades" lineup, with Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor on drums and "Fast" Eddie Clarke on guitar.

The Stones with Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman back would be a dream come true.

And I REALLy wish the Kinks would reform and tour again. Their original bassist Peter Quaife just died, but John Dalton is still around (he played bass for the Kinks from '69 - '76, I think). Ray keeps hinting at it....

Yeah, i saw that. I'm sorry but the Faces without Rod are simply not the Faces. I'm happy to see that Ian and Kenney are playing together again, though. I'm not holding my breath that it will be any good but I wish them well. I suppose if Thin Lizzy can still tour without Phil Lynott, Woody and his crew have a chance to pull it off. Still, you'd think they could have found a better replacement for Rod than Mick Hucknell of all people.
