Hep you better post the prices of your "Bookshelf" speakers to give Davorp the complete picture, those are good speakers though.

Sorry. No bookshelf speakers for me. They would take up the space where I like to sit and listen to my floorstanders.

If the Monitor Audio Silvers are beyond your price range, check out the Monitor Audio Bronze BR5 or BR6 speakers anyway. I was knocked out by the rich, lush detailed sound I heard from the Bronzes when I was helping a buddy audition speakers - so knocked out in fact that I auditioned, and bought, a pair of the Silver RS8s a few months later.

Okay Davorp seein' Hep won't say anything I found the newer version of his speakers, the RX8's, and they sell for about $1500.00 U.S.

Not bad I have always liked British speakers.

The Paradigm Studio Reference 100 v.4s weigh 81 pounds each and cost about U.S.$2750 per pair from a dealer in Toronto.

The Monitor Audio Silver RX8s weigh 21.8 kilograms each and cost at least U.S.$1365 per pair plus shipping.

The Monitor Audio Bronze BR6s weigh 17.4 kilograms each and cost at least U.S.$1000 per pair plus shipping.

The Monitor Audio Bronze BR5s weigh 11.5 kilograms each and cost at least U.S.$600 per pair plus shipping.

I was just pulling your tail Hep...

The site I visited to check out your speakers has free shipping, but the price was higher, I couldn't find the RS8's... But I think the RX8's are the newer model.

The RX8s are indeed the newer model of the RS8s. I've had my RS8s for just over a year.

Are you going to get the Paradigm's eventually?

Maybe for another system - but not soon. Although the Paradigm Studio 100s have better specs, they did not sound noticeably better than the Monitor Audio RS8s to my ears or those of my listening companion when we auditioned them with the same equipment against each other at Kromer Radio, my favourite all around audio shop, on Bathurst Street in Toronto.
