Re: That Little Ole Band From Texas~ZZ TOP

I really don't have a favorite ZZ Top album, but they do have enough great songs on iTunes for me to compile an 18 song 'best of' cd.

Favorites tunes are "Beer Drinkers And Hell Raisers", "It's Only Love" and "I Need You Tonight".

Met Billy once. Super nice guy, but man was he hammered! I guess when you're an invited guest of Budweiser there's nothing else to do but sit around at their hospitality compound and eat, drink, bs, and sign autographs. As David Lee Roth would say, "it's good work if you can get it!" :heheh:

But over the course of their career, ZZ Top is certainly worthy of being one of the greats. And their videos on MTV were always fun, too, and probably helped their record and concert sales as much as anyone else in the 80's.

I love ZZ Top...and a new album is on the way they say!

I have a lot to say about ZZ, so I'll be back...

But until then...it's blues time...

Blues time in Paris...

So let's get down n' dirty a bit...shall we?

Honey, baby...I'm just ''A Fool for Your Stockings''....

ZZTop = the best 3-man band in history. Great music, great live shows!
I should clarify this... I know someone may come along and say "What about Hendrix and crew" or "What about Cream". Well, both were awesome, no doubt and no disrespect, but since ZZ Top has been awesome since the beginning AND have lasted 35+ years, they get my nod.

^^Sums up how I feel too Lynch. The only other trio that I have equal but play different music is Rush, they have stood the test of time as well.

Here's my first ZZ Top album, bought it for $.97 when it came out.:D

I always laugh at the fact that the only member without a Beard is called Frank Beard...

Anyway, I heard a different but good version of Elvis' "Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear" by ZZ Top, but it's not on YouTube :(.

Some of my favourite more conventional ZZ Top songs are La Grange, Sharp Dressed Man, Tush, Legs and Pearl Necklace

Oh man you took Cheap Sunglasses Thumper!!! :wa:

I like me some ZZ Top...they were fun in the 70's and I have to admit fun in the 80's. Really who couldn't like this tune?
