In doing this poll I didn't want to get into too much detail in asking the questions in the poll options. I was limited to 100 characters per line for each poll option so I couldn't get into too much detail anyway as I also wanted to keep it as simple as possible. The devil is in the details and one option really doesn't cover everything. The poll was in general.
For me, I give my indifferent opinion in regards to the music, respecting other's musical preferences.
Very seldom do I state my dislikes for somebody elses musical preferences, especially in a band thread, though on ocassions I will comment on what I like about the music and at the same time state my dislikes as well in a polite way. Again this depends on the context of the thread, the music and/or band posted, my knowledge on that band and/or the music, the member who posted the thread as I know and feel more comfortable with that person on making a comment as they have got to know me and vise versa and have respect for each others feedback.
When doing my own threads, I will be a lot more critical of the music within that thread and pointing out that it is my opinion on that particular band or music, again with keeping in mind that others might like the music as well. Ya, at times I can be very critical.
I have no problem with others commenting on any of my threads about the music, I actually invite others to do so, but if they direct negative comments to me on a personal level and not on the music I will be confront them trying to be diplomatic and and respectful as well. Sometimes that doesn't happen. Emotions get in the way and its not easy being in good judgement in that state of mind. Most times it works out between the two parties in my experience here as both acknowledge thier mistakes, intentions, and misinterpretations.
Most of my feedback is contained in the song and band battles, album combat zone and in my album rating scale polls where I thought others would feel more comfortable on stating thier opinions. These polls are not all about me, though some might think other and are sick of them. Thats fine. Don't participate. I think most people do like the polls I do. Can't please everybody. Polls are for the people.
In regards to the last poll option, it was done to lighten things up, have some fun, and relative in the context of the poll. Did I think someone was going to choose that. Absolutely. I would be an "idiot" not to think so. I don't think there is any idiots here at CRF, though I did think one was, however that person got banned sometime ago. Do people annoy me at times, ya, though be it for very brief time as I'm sure I annoy others as well as I do get carried away at times. That's the way it is.
Great bunch of people here and I have a great deal of respect for people and thier knowledge of music and for how the forum is run and that comes from the top down. I wouldn't be here other wise.
