Please foxhound, listen to this metal ballad, I promise you it is not "rough" or anything harsh at all, but it does sizzle a bit in the solo. This song is actually a beautiful piece of work, and it might change your mind about metal.

You seem to be assuming that I have an avowed dislike of metal as a genre. That's just not true. Granted that I don't style myself a hardcore metal fanatic but I like and have many albums in my collection by Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Meat Loaf and one each by the Scorpions, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Cinderella, Jane's Addiction and Black Sabbath. I've attended concerts by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Scorpions, Jane's Addiction, Meat Loaf and Nine Inch Nails in the past two years. Among the eighties hair bands, Def Leppard is the one I like the best. (Van Halen though I can't abide.)

With respect to Demons and Wizards though, I'd be willing to buy an album of theirs just on the basis of their name! That "Fiddler on the Green" track may actually be a bit too laid back for my taste. "Because the Night" by Patti Smith Group is an example of the kind of hard/soft combination I like.

:heheh:

Lynch I agree Bark At The Moon is ace.

Thumper again I agree it is a great tune one of the best from Mr. Coverdale.

Wet Willy "Simple Man" is just a fantastic track.
