There's so many good ones out there, here's the first 10 that came to mind.

1. Slow Ride ~ Foghat *
2.Can't You See ~ Marshall Tucker Band
3. I Am The Highway ~ Audioslave
4. Rebels ~ Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers *
5.Stone Cold Believer ~ 38 Special
6.Ride On ~ AC/DC
7.The Ballad Of El Goodo ~ Big Star
8. Promised Land ~ Elvis Presley
9.Draw The Line ~ Aerosmith
10.She's A Runner ~ Billy Squier

* Pretty much any tune by Tom Petty or Foghat are good for the highway..IMO.

With lovers, buggers, & thieves.
"Big Log" Robert Plant (1983)

This was the inspiration for my mother-of-all mix-tapes. I would get on the highway just
before evening, pop in the cassette and just drive and smoke. We had two highways that
made a big circle around the whole region, so I would get on and just drive.

All these have a very similar vibe or feel. I have never been able to describe exactly what... it's just a feeling.

Two laps, three cigarettes, and 1-1/2 hours of escape.
