Fantastic turnout, better than I expected. 24 more hours left for anyone who hasn't made it yet.

The inaugural class for the Classic Rock Forums' Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

18 voters--great turnout!!!

Chuck Berry (actual induction 1986)
Buddy Holly (1986)
Elvis Presley (1986)
Johnny Cash (1992)
Jerry Lee Lewis (1986)
Little Richard (1986)
Aretha Franklin (1987)

Congrats to the 1st hall class. Just missing the cut were BB King, Roy Orbison, and James Brown. Don't be discouraged by the 1st round of votes. These are the artists that would be in virtually anybody's Hall of Fame. As we get the legends inducted, the voting will be become much more interesting. Stay tuned for the 1987 poll coming soon.

Thanks for taking the time to work this out. It's good to see Johnny Cash get the credit he deserves, although I am a bit disappointed that there are no Brits in the final list!

Don't worry, The British are coming! The British are coming! Really, the British Invasion hadn't taken effect in 1960.

You are quite right. Authentic British rock 'n' rollers were as scarce as they were pioneering. In any case, there are important Americans missing, including Gene Vincent, whom I had forgotten about. I suppose therein is a lesson to be learned for the next time.
