Why were all visitor messages deleted?

Mine are fine. That is really odd though.

I know occassionally if a user is idle/afk/gone/missing/etc for long periods of time, there is some cleanup maintenance that is done. Personally, I don't touch it, so that's all I know. I will typically only clean up profile messages upon request.

I always prefer PM's over visitor messaging, so if I saw that my visitor messages were deleted, I wouldn't mind it too much. Anything that's really important is usually kept in private.

That is weird! I know what Lynch is saying about maintenance but it's usually not with a long standing active member and it's usually more with members who just come fill up their profile albums, do a post or two and pretty much make themselves scarce. Sorry, wish I had an official answer Groovy!

I know, that's a little off topic...but, yeah, I agree with you.

Seriously, those people's albums should be deleted.

As far as I know, no one from staff has deleted any visitor messages.


I am sorry, Groovy, if your messages went "poof". I have no explanation for this.
