David Lee Roth!

The first two albums are my faves. The other DLR-era albums are pretty good too but the vibe started changing a bit after those first two (imo). W&C First, and Fair Warning rock like mad (even something a bit experimental like "Sunday Afternoon ..." is just so damn heavy and different). I think my favorite VH track of all time would probably be "Beautiful Girls." It sums up the vibe and the times of this band during their glory years.

I like David Lee Roth better as a singer. However, I think the SONGS from the Sammy Hagar-era are better. The majority of my favorites are from the Van Hagar days, but I'd love to hear Dave's voice on a few of the tunes Sammy did.

I listen to both eras (notice I don't include Gary Cherone), but that's just how I feel.

With that said, I like Dave's solo albums far better than Sammy's.

I Love Both Van Halen Eras But David Lee Roth Was A Great Frontman And He Fit Van Halen Perfectly.
David Lee Roths Energy Live Blew Everybody Away
David Lee Roth Was The Man of The 80's.
Plus Eddies Guitar Solos In The Van Halen (Roth Era) Were The Best and Eddies Tone Of Guitar Was Just Epic. So im giving this one to Van Roth!!!.

DLR. I'm DEFINITELY a Sammy fan, but even more so when he's in his own element. I liked the music that he made with VH, but I LOVED the music that DLR made with them.

DLR era Van Halen>Van Hagar. Love Sammy, I'm probably a bigger fan of Sammy Hagar's overall catalog moreso than DLR's solo stuff, but those first 4 or 5 VH albums are iconic to me. Hard to beat.

Sammy Hagar unambiguously. Roth (to my taste) is just a showman, but not a singer at all.

I honestly don't care. Either one is OK with me.

As long as it's not that cat from Extreme
