Had to put this up, one of my favourite tracks from Heep and Ian Anderson is just brilliant. I think Sweaty could have been at this gig ?

Great stuff :cheers2

I must say Dreammare on this one is the coolest version I have ever heard. Funny, cause also it is one of my favourite songs this week. I'd love to buy, but it cost freakin' £69.95!

Picked that up when it first came out. Awesome DVD !!!

I love early Uriah Heep. Need to listen to their more recent stuff.

Demons & Wizards is in my top 10 best album artworks (along with Passage by Bloodrock). I spent hours gazing at both. Hm, Wikipedia says the D&W cover contained some... hidden images... I don't remember those. Then again, I was only 9. :heheh:

For this album in particular, I'd lay on the floor, head between the speakers, playing "Wizard" and "Come Away Melinda" over & over. (Of course, back then you had to repeatedly get your ass up and physically move the tuner arm; no remotes or digital!)

Anyway, didn't see this video: "Come Away Melinda."

^^ It's easy to spot them - upper left corner. :grinthumb

Come Away Melinda is one of my least favourite Heep songs to be honest. Despite Gypsy sounding very proto-metal I consider V'E... V'U... B-side LP as the best from the early career. And yes, Wizard is an acoustically driven classic. :cheers2

It's been 36 years since Gary Thain, the bassist from New Zeland died. One of my favourites and very inspiring bass players of all, he played during the classic line-up era on albums Demons & Wizards, The Magician's Birthday, Live 1973, Sweet Freedom and Wonderworld. His playing technique is just incredible and amazes me every time I pick up one of those classics.

I know it was Paul Newton, that played bass 'Lady In Black', but it will be an amazing moment to perform this song on stage tonight at college gig.

Good luck tonight Nolo...

I never even knew Gary Thain had died all those years ago, then again I have a hard time remembering who's in bands these days and who left and who has passed on.;)

Thanks. :D

You know, die hard fans will know the line-ups and tell you exactly who was when and where. :heheh:
