Re: Trans Siberian Orchestra

It only gets better. Take into account also that they have two touring companies and a DVD is a great way to switch companies between songs from multiple locations.

On a DVD we would get to see Al Pitrelli and Chris Caffrey...Middleton and Jeff Plate

Plus the killer light show in HD.

Re: Trans Siberian Orchestra

I have to add some of the Trans Siberian Orchestra's catalogue to my record/CD collection.

They flat out knock me on my ass! I only wish that the old composers like Beethoven and Tchaikovsky could attend a concert today and experience what's been done to their compositions. I'm betting they'd join me flat on their ass!

I have said it many times before, if Ludwig was reincarnated, he would be a Heavy Metal guitarist...:mn:

Nope Wolfgang would be more like Keith Emerson...he's more mellow than Ludwig, and many of the old greats would have a main genre they loved, but also do their romantic slower material on the side.

Re: Trans Siberian Orchestra

The fact that the ensemble originated in New York as opposed to Siberia puts me off a bit - but the bottom line is that the music is breathtaking.

I only have a couple of Savatage albums, but I -should- have more, nothing they've done that I've heard has ever put me off.

As for TSO, thanks for that Nutcracker Suite, Fox.... that's so cool. And the light show, as in every video I've seen, is second to none.
