I definitely took the long way 'round to Tori Amos.
Known of her since Little Earthquakes, but in spite of buying LE, UTP, BFP, and FTCGH upon each release, I just wasn't too interested, until an internet search in 2005 for Kate Bush led me to a KB thread on a Tori Amos forum.
When I discovered Tori was still making music, I bought what was then her current release, "The Beekeeper". Well... (swoons) after all those years, I finally "got" it. I immediately bought every album by her I didn't already have, and flung myself headlong into Tori Amos' music, where I remained for a few years. I definitely made up for lost time, and went through some kind of an inner renewal process, too. Tori's music helped me lift myself out of the lowest place I had ever been in, in my whole life.
