I think I'll do one of songs I've really enjoyed listening to recently, in about the last month or so, some by artists I'm only just discovering, others by more established favourites of mine:

- Ramblin' Man - The Allman Brothers Band
- Speed King - Deep Purple
- After The Thrill Is Gone - Eagles
- I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe) - Genesis
(This is permanently lodged in my head right now. In the early afternoon every day I keep thinking 'it's one o'clock and time for lunch, dum dee dum dee dum'. :heheh:)
- The Battle Of Evermore - Led Zeppelin
- Boom, Like That - Mark Knopfler
- Pardon My Heart - Neil Young
- Echoes - Pink Floyd
(I actually went on holiday to Italy recently and visited the amphitheatre at Pompeii where I listened to his song in its entirety where Pink Floyd actually played it in the Live at Pompeii film. Brilliant!)
- Find The River - R.E.M.
- Blowin' Free - Wishbone Ash

1) Kids in America - Kim Wilde
2) Kicked Out of the Webelos - The ******
3) Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
4) Teen Archer - Blue Öyster Cult
5) Bette Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes
6) Heaven is a Place on Earth - Belinda Carlisle
7) Too Sexy - Right Said Fred
8) I Call Your Name - The Beatles
9) Dancing Queen - ABBA
10) Waterloo - ABBA

If you are wondering what these songs all have in common: They are uptempo songs with great melodies and hooks. (Well, Bette Davis Eyes is not uptempo - but I love the idiosyncratic chord sequence).
