Yeah, but then one has to wonder which song will be used for each band. Probably the most everplayed/overrated ones naturally. Dare to take a guess as to Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple's selections?

Smoke On The Water has nearly nothing to do with what Deep Purple are able play, I suppose Black Night will be an ultimate classic rock song in this case.

On Led Zep I would think between Black Dog and Heartbreaker. Stairway To Heaven shouldn't represent the band IMO.

I always thought of America as a 'soft rock' band. Nonetheless, Horse With No Name is classic!

Should be called Most Popular Classic Rock Radio Song list. Pretty damn predictable ...
not that there aren't songs that I like on the list so far.

Any "Top" list usually does translate into the most played radio songs or the top selling singles.

I don't discredit the list so far. I am waiting for the top 20 to appear...then we will see how predictable the list is ;)

For it to be a Top Classic Rock song it has to be a popular song. How could a song that isn't popular make the list?

Exactly, Fever. Back in the 70's, I use to listen to a lot of radio, and that is usually how I chose my music............what was being played on the radio.

Of course back then, the album usually contained more than one "good" song, the whole albums were good :)

Today, that isn't always the case. You have one or two hit singles, then the rest of the CD is fluff.
