The 2000s just because I like more music from the other decades than I do from the 2000s. I have albums of a few artists but that is not very much for 10 years.

I think the 50s are getting a bad rap. You had to be there. 50s R&R shook the world and the world has never been the same since then. We loved it!
one of the reasons I took the 50's is that I've got plenty of 50's greatest hits albums since the 50's was about the song not the album. While from the mid 60's until today I've got 100's of albums in every decade that I love. I'm an album guy! I've also got a deep passion for the 00's because I was more involved in the music industry then I was at any other time, I saw more shows, was friends with bands and had felt a great bond with the music. Maybe the music isn't as good as some of the past decades but it means more to me just like the 50's might to you.

I'm still really hoping that over time, the 00s will prove to have been a far greater decade than we all are aware of. I mean, at this current moment, we've all had 10, 20, 30 years to dissect each of these other decades. None of us have had that much time to explore the 00s.

I don't like any of the things that were in vogue in the 00s, but hopefully there were things going on way down below, things that will only become widely understood once great bands in the 2010s and 2020s come out and tell us where to look!

good point. I didn't learn about lots of 80's and 90's stuff until the 00's.

You most definitely didn't have to be there. The music of that era is great regardless whether you were there or not, the general lack of interest on this board notwithstanding. You could make a good argument that 1955-57 are the three strongest consecutive years of the entire rock and roll era.

^^I'll take 1967 - 1974 hands down as the greatest period in rock music history period, it's not even close.

I find the 50's to be boring myself, a few great artists no denying that, some very influential artists certainly but they fall short on every level when I compare them to the interval I mentioned, the Golden Age when full blown rock music in all it's various guises was at the peak of it's creativity.

I would have no problem putting the 60's on the list (but no, it wasn't me, I haven't voted yet).

The 60's was full of crappy music in various genres. There were some great bands in the 60s, but there were FAR more crappy bands and crappy songs than good ones. It's just that those good ones typically seem to outshine the junk and some of us seem to only remember those bright spots.
