Re: Sweet

Got all their albums from original band, very good, lots of different styles and they could string a tune along....

Re: Sweet

The SWEET were a great band remembered in the 70s uk for their glam image and highly catchy songs, what a lot of people didnt appreciate was they were a great ROCK band too!! Of course Teenage rampage.action.hellraiser and the like were classics but check out the albums there were more gems......eg the track " cockroach"....funnily enough could have been on DEEP PURPLEs " in rock" and another early track" the juicer" were superb ! They had a great frontman in Brian Connelly [r.i.p] ...he was missed in the last SWEET vinyl i bought the " waters edge" album which im afraid was rather poor.

Re: Sweet

They were a great rock band LOU/REALM I caught them some time ago without Brian (r.i.p.) they were ok and managed to belt out some classics, I believe Sox was with me at the time. They played some stuff off their later stuff and said that as we had paid for the whole night we could not escape, it wasn't bad. Here is a couple from their last album, Identity Crisis which is being re-released this year with some live stuff and two more studio albums after Brian left.

Re: Sweet

It was a weekend Blues/Rock festival and Sweet played a great set. Some classics some new stuff, yeah they were really good. They got the crowd buzzin' and that's always a positive vibe.

Re: Sweet

I'm not too big of a fan, but I do like Ballroom Blitz and Love Is Like Oxygen (more so the latter, for that opening guitar. I'm a sucker for great, albeit simple, guitar playing)

Re: Sweet

I saw them years ago opening for Pat Travers. Had to be late 70's. Not sure who was in the band but I remember it was quite entertaining with quite a few really good songs. Love is Like Oxygen, Fox on the Run, & Ballroom Blitz are all great songs.
