I have a good friend who is a Queen expert, so I reached out to him to see if there's any cross pollination.
I think early things like Slow Motion definitely make good use of vocal harmonies.

I LOVE The Sweet. Obviously, I'm a Desolation Boulevard guy. The whole album is fantastic, and so many of those songs have been covered.
Faves are:
Set Me Free by Saxon
No You Don't by Pat Benatar

The Musikladen videos on Youtube are amazing!

And yes, Mick Tucker is an extremely underrated drummer. I mean, that shuffle thing he does on Into The Night. He's great on I Wanna Be Committed as well.

Personally, I think what Andy Scott is doing with his silver wig is a bit silly, but God love him.

I currently have ALL The Sweet albums on individual cds plus about 5 or 6 years ago I bought the complete 'Sweet Sensations' box-set of about 8 cds including a disc of material recorded at the BBC and a 'live disc' as well. The only thing that in my opinion would have given the band 'more depth musically' was if they had had a second guitarist to fill out the overall sound more but that is only a minor personal issue. Back in the early 1970s my favourite guy in the band was Steve Priest the bass player who unfortunately passed away about 4 years ago in 2020 in the USA where he had lived for many years with his wife and family.

That box set sounds interesting. I’ll have to look for it.

I had another look at it yesterday and the box set actually is called Sweet Senational and not Sweet Sensations my mistake!. The box set basically has all the studio albums recorded during the 1970s along with the 'live album' recorded in London and a disc with the aforementioned sessions recorded at the BBC in London.

I wanna go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Cleveland, OH) but without THE SWEET; It is just too much of an insult to endure. Hail to SWEET the Most Underrated 'Known' Band of All TIME!

fully agree about Mick Tucker...only Quo's John Coghlan matches him on the shuffle.
