The music Icons Carole King and James Taylor have announced their "Troubadour Reunion" world tour. This world tour will be starting off in Melbourne, Australia from 27th March, 2010. After Traveling to New Zealand and Japan, the tour will come to North America and Europe. This one of its kind tour will be bringing together two of the greatest and applauded singers and songwriters. The performances at this tour will include the songs they performed in 1969 during their debut show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. This debut proved to be a big break for both of them and led them to the world stage.
On the occasion of the celebration of “Troubadour’s 50th Anniversary in 2007”, Taylor and King performed at this venue for the first time after 1969. The shows went sold out soon. They received enthusiastic reviews from the fans as well as the critics. Here, the idea for the "Troubadour Reunion" tour came together. The idea was to let the fans outside Los Angeles experience the same magic as created on that evening in 2007. After almost four decades, King and Taylor will be coming together in this tour. Their original band members will be performing with them as well. Those band mates include the guitarist Danny "Kootch" Kortchmar, the bassist Lee Sklar and Russ Kunkel, and the drummer.
Talking about this upcoming tour King said, "When James and I first played together in the early seventies, we connected immediately, both musically and personally, with an effortless, comfortable familiarity." She added that after their reunion in 2007 and performing with the original band from their early Troubadour shows, none of them wanted the fun to stop. She also expressed her enthusiasm by saying, “We can't wait to bring our Troubadour Reunion tour to Australia."
About the tour, James Taylor said, “This tour, our Troubadour Reunion, has been waiting to happen for a long time and the years seem to have vanished, where the time goes?"
