i can't think of any band but queen as the most versatile. they played so many styles.
then the beatles.

Pop, Rock, Ballads, Rockabilly, Rhythm and Blues, Show Tunes, Skiffle, Children's, Christmas, Chamber, Soundtrack, Psychedelic, Indian Raga, Reggae, Folk, Avant Garde, Concept, Music Hall, Protest, Country, Hard Rock, Swing...and I give them extra points for doing it first, for setting the example for other bands to follow.

What's the example for progressive disco though?

Well I thought of Carouselambra as pretty disco-y, with all the synths and repetitive upbeat riffing. Plus it's a long song with many tempo changes and different sections, so... yeah :rolleyes:
