My favourite is Something Else but most Kinks fans will agree that Village Green Preservation Society, Arthur and Something Else are their best albums.

Thanks for the recommends Zombeels, I'll put them on my list and post my thoughts after giving them a listen.

I've never heard anything from The Kinks outside of the hits:

While we're waiting for Zombeels to post his top 200 Kinks tunes, I'd suggest you go out and buy this one:

An alternative would be to buy up their entire catalogue of studio albums but I suspect that just like the rest of us your finances are limited and prioritizing is a sad necessity.

I live in Buffalo, NY
I love the Kinks old stuff & new Stuff. One of my favorite songs is 'til the End of he Day'. I made up a best of the Kinks from my cd's & I mixed the live version of that song which is a bit Reggae style with the Original version & it went together pretty cool. I seen the Kinks in 79 & 82 & they are great live. At the '82 show they played 7 encores including "Louie Louie"

Honestly I thought you were joking about Zombeels posting 200 of his favorite Kinks songs...and wouldn't that be the whole catalog anyway...?

^^^ I can't find the link but I believe (Zombeels can confirm this) that The Kinks have recorded over 500 songs.

:dunno:
They do if you count the live albums and all the bonus tracks which consist of alternative recordings and different edits. They were active from 1964 to 1994. They released around 28 albums.
