I do really enjoy Pink Floyd's 'Money', but sax is definitely NOT my favriote instrument. I dont care for it near as much others used in rock music. I dont mind it once in awhile but I think it's more of 70s thing, probably why my favriote music comes the 1980s I do prefer the 80s synth sound to the 70s sax sound.
Depends on where it is used. I absolutely love the saxophone work on Dream Theater's Another Day! I also like it on Dire Straits' Your Latest Trick. Money is there but it is not one of my fav Floyd tracks. Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street has it, doesn't it? I love that one! I also like Wham's Careless Whisper I'm not ashamed to admit it.
For the most part, I like the sax...except that sometimes, those sax parts can be a bit too much in your face, especially when you're listening to the song in a car where you're right next to the speakers. A good producer/engineer can also do wonders here.
