In so much as most Americans weren't really listening to the Beatles catalog as it was intended to be released until the albums were issued in their British forms on CD in the '80's,Many are still sizeable fan of the American/Capitol titles. The only significantly measurable down side here is the downsized "Revolver".But then on the other hand "And Your Bird Can Sing","I'm Only Sleeping" and "Dr. Robert" do provide meaty backbone for the "Yesterday...and Today" package".I know Capitol was shrewd in its efforts to stretch out the Fab's sprawling catalog of hip tunes into as many LP'S as possible in order to garner as much bottom line, but on the whole, the idea wasn't a half bad one. There is the problem of "Hard Day's Night" and "Help!' containing incidental music from the films, but just keep in mind that at that time in 60's,soundtracks were absolutely HUGE so in retrospect, actually a very sound business move for the times."2nd Album" "Something New" and "Beatles '65" are all strong sets while "Hey Jude",with its collection of previously singles only cuts, may be a bit convoluted since it contains music from different phases of the band's illustrious career, but still pleases as a well reasonably worthwhile compilation.Aside from the music, the packaging of these sorts of things is also instrumental in the sales department. It appears as though there's been considerable effort in this area.
