Stuff...

^^Without my Mom I don't think I would have gotten into music at a young age that's for sure.

How are those tapes working for you George??

I'll be cleaning the vinyl and posting pictures in the wax thread tomorrow.:)
All I have done so far Bruce is put the tape labels on them. I haven't had a chance to do anything with them. :D

Just got the manual for the Akai deck. So far so good on it.

Yeah I'm sorry about that, I have labels but couldn't find them, usually I would keep them with the cassettes but must have had a brain cramp.:bonk:

I saw a really nice Akai Reel to Reel yesterday...I would love to get one but it's the tape that's the real problem. Finding NOS is almost impossible nowadays.

Unless somebody out there knows a company still making tape...Ampex maybe.

Tape Job

^Not a big deal as I have loads and loads of labels that I never pasted on. :D

To even consider reel to reel I have to have pre-recorded ones on hand just for it. As of now, I have three cassette decks. Two Akais and a Nak. I think that should hold me up until the big bright light.

Another gadget box...

RekOKut-PMMPii-1.jpg

Someone in my 'hood had a yard sale. Saw the above for a mere $5 dollas. Seriously... Read the specs on the manual in the box. Similar to my TCC TC-750 but more heft on the casing PLUS it had a subsonic filter built in. Couldn't pull my fiver out of my wallet fast enough. The previous owner claims it was never used much.

Dropped the junky red and white cables that came with it. Don't get why manufacturers even bother with those.

Temptation Tuesday

Good one Jim. I know characters who would ask such a thing. Half joking of course.

Poo Bah records out here in Pasadena had loads of recordable reel to reel tapes in boxes outside their store for FREE! The good people that work there tell me I should take them. It was about six to eight boxes with eight to ten reels in 'em. One problem, I don't have a player. If I did take them up on it, then I have to get a player! :oyea:

I talked myself out of it. Insanity... I know analoggal wrote of how great they are and someone I know once told me that they beat the cassettes hands down in quality.

Aaahhh...the days when the boombox was good enough.

^^You should have picked up a box or two...just in case you do find a nice Reel to Reel down the road.

I know I would have no problem filling them up with good quality music, including a few 4 track recordings I have in the collection.

Sounds interesting, I'm wondering if it's another analog piece or for the digital side of things,,,,
