^^It's hard to be exact George but for Power Tubes they should last between 2000 - 3000+ hours, depending on how hard you use the amplifier.

The Preamp Tubes should last between 3,000 and 5,000 hours.

I am very impressed with this company so far, tomorrow or Friday I'll phone and ask about the 12AX7's and 12AU7's to get some info before ordering again. I want the Warmest possible tubes with the best bass response at modest volume.

Here's the link to the online shop.

^^That is a very nice piece of gear 2LT. 24/192's are top quality but the only problem will be "finding" those files to play. I think there are some specialty sites that offer them but most of those were classical and jazz if I remember correctly.

That is my biggest beef with i-tunes...the lack of quality they offer...well that and the fact I hate Jobs and the way his company does business.:heheh:

I'd imagine that Astell/Kern player would cost a tidy sum...

^^That's a lot of money for a DAC...I would think about a new TT with a good cartridge and still have some leftover for a trip to the vinyl shop...

Most of the 24-192's I've seen are ultra high quality vinyl rips done of rare OOP albums by the "Masters"...the gear they have is about the value of a house. Other than that, there was a site that offered them but it was a classical specialty site. I do have a few files like that on my hard drive, I use Foobar to play them they sound excellent when I connect my external sound card to my stereo system.

^^That's a great t-shirt.:heheh:

I've never bought one piece of audio equipment on impulse, I do research first and see what would do the job and get a ballpark figure as far as cost goes. I've had good success on e-bay and some other online sites that sell vintage gear as well.
