Here's my latest acquisition and most likely the last piece of hardware I'll be buying for a long time. Collecting gear is fun but I am going to sit back and enjoy everything I've got for the foreseeable future.

The Prima Luna Prologue 1 Tube integrated amplifier. Got it for 1/2 price earlier this week and is my first Tube amplifier. Takes a while to break in this amp, about 2-300 hours before it finally settles in the sweet spot. Right now I'm playing CD's and they never sounded better, the vocals and midrange especially shine.

Puts out about 40 watts per channel which is plenty for me. I'm planning to order another set of different tubes next week going to be fun to play around with it and it's not hugely expensive either.

Awesome ... when that settles in I can only imagine the crisp quality. I have read of folk that were undecided about tube in this age but once they indulge they seldom look back. Great pick up LG.

^^Thanks Mighty Ent, I just wish you and Sweaty could stop in for a visit, just bring some Ale and we'd be set for the night.:heheh:

My next set of tubes will be really good ones, but even then they aren't expensive and can change the sound dramatically from what I've read. I want a little more "oomph" on the bottom end, but without sacrificing the mid/highs. We'll see how things go from here....but it wasn't planned just caught my eye and the price was ridiculous so I took the gamble.

^^Good company, good tunes and good Ale, you are right not much is better when I think about it.:hab:

The ladies could bring over a bottle of wine and chat/gossip upstairs while we talk about the Serious business of music and gear and ale.:oyea:

:peek What can I say :cheers2 Let us know how things develop, if you swap tubes around and how the sound improves when these settle etc.

Between my left and right speakers...
Congrats.

^Bruce has gone tubing! In most set-ups that would be THE final piece in achieving that analog sound a demanding listener would want. Very nice.

Glad to see others like 2LITTLETIME and Phantasmagoria [love those mags!] hanging on about here doing gear talk.
