Re: Taste?

I have just come back from a road trip with my Dad and we sang along to a lot of Rory's and Taste's music along the way! He is a dyed in the wool Gallagher fan from way back.

Consider yourself lucky - that's a good Dad right there! :grinthumb

It's just an all-out power trio jam, what's not to like :grinthumb

We've got the same albums too - tho I seem to have a comp more than you. Ner-ner? :heybaby:

Well, this weekend I'm going to get 2 comp's and be one up on you!
:heheh:

But seriously...Taste was a great all-out power trio...they were very raw...and that makes them more appealing to me. Love 'em.

We need a Taste Live DVD...or do they have one out?

Re: Taste?

Taste deserve to be up there with all the other Blues Rock pioneers such as Savoy Brown, Johnny Winter, Ten Years After, Taj Mahal, etc.:grinthumb

In my reading travels GM, I thought I read that Taste were filmed at one of the numerous late 60's, early 70's European rock festivals.

Re: Taste?

Along with Yes, Taste supported Cream on their farewell gigs at the Albert Hall in 68' what would I give to have been there.

Re: Taste?

It seems whenver I mention Taste to other rock fans or on other classic rock boards I've been a member of, the reply is usually..... who???? or "wasn't that a disco group from the 70's?""

It's a shame that they seem to be so unknown here in the states and wish they would have made more albums together.

I have a Rory Gallagher compilation DVD which has some Taste footage on it. There's a segment where The Edge talks about the band and mentions how he felt that they were just as good as Cream. I don't know if I quite agree with that though feel they were a damn good power trio who deserved more recognition.

Gambling Blues live

Great band. I have all of their work. Rory Gallagher's own version of 'Cream'. Funny thing is, Clapton and Rory started 'Cream' and 'Taste' around the same time. Wow lots of sexual potential in there hahaha
