T. Rex was a bit of a ridiculous band from the get go and the lyrics got zanier and the music got more trippy and adventurous as their career went on. Aside from "Electric Warrior" I'd say this is the bands most accessible album for casual T. Rex listeners so the fact that the common opinion is that it's a 6 and 7 out of 10 doesn't come as a shock to me.

The music of Bolan is of love and the magic of life, Electric Warrior travels a misty world of magic and sex, it rocks, it grooves, it rolls and moves.
Bolan was at his creative peak, the demand for all things Bolan in 1972 was immense and the release by Fly of the Bolan Boogie compilation hindered sales of follow up album The Slider. This is a great rock n' roll album, the Slider was the creative excellence of an emerging force at the time.
