The Lee Riders got together in ‘69 - ‘70 in Woodstock NY. They then moved to the UK to record their first and only album in 1972. This band has ties to Pure Prairie League with Michael Connor and Mike Reilly and their “Bustin Out” album.
The Lee Riders began touring with Bowie on the Spiders from Mars tour in 1972, but Bowie had them kicked off the tour and the Lee Riders faded into obscurity.
The album is very good, and quite rare. There are some edgy southern rock moments and some laid back blues. If you are an Allman Brothers or Flying Burrito Brothers fan, you will enjoy this album.
