Well, there were quite a few back in the 1960's and 1970's in my case. But thanks to my older brother I got hooked on this song and listened to it a lot behind closed doors in my room with the volume up. Yes, my parents heard it and became worried that I was a potential mass murderer.

Yes, I was an angry alienated teenager who sometimes wished I could shoot people I hated, but I would never actually do it...

I remember my mother being especially upset over this one. (My parents were very conservative)

When my brother brought a copy of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath home, my Mom wanted to send him to a psychiatrist or an exorcist...:oyea:

One of the few times my Dad ever paid attention to any album cover which is saying a lot.

I remember back in the mid 80's, I was out in the garage working on something with my dad and I had Judas Priest's Screaming For Vengeance playing in my boombox.

He didn't say anything for the entire album until the last song came on. About halfway through, he stops whatever he's doing and looks at me and says (as a question) "`I believe in the devil`?! WTF is that?"

I said "no, the words are, `I believe you're the devil's child`".

He pauses, gives me one of these looks :wtf: , looks down, looks back up and me and says "turn that shit off"

:heheh:

Mom loved Machine Head, but when she heard Black Sabbath she was upset, looking back it is kind of funny considering the state of music today.:heheh:

Along with bringing the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album home my older brother's friends also came along. One of them was an honest to gawd "Satanist", he gave me the shivers just being in the same room with him. Sort of like having a reptile who's looking at you like his next meal.:hm:

^^That's funny Squidbilly...:heheh:

I'm trying to think of any album I owned that my parents didn't approve of......but usually Mom would come upstairs open my door and pick up the album cover of the band I was listening to and either end up borrowing it or buying her own copy.

My mum thought Alice Cooper was a pervert, although she wouldn't have stopped me listening to him. I would not have played Frank Zappa's Live at Filmore East within earshot. With my dad, it was not the music that annoyed him, it was things like Monty Python's Flying Circus that he hated! My grandparents liked Monty Python (and Marty Feldman) so I could relax at their house.

My Dad didn't like Monty Python either, some of their skits were priceless others not so much.

I remember Joe's Garage when it came out created a bit of a ruckus, I only listened to it once and never bought a copy. Not a big Zappa fan although I have Hot Rats in the library now.
